The LI Steering Committee created a Candidate Scorecard for the Congressional, Senate, and Gubernatorial primary candidates based on how well they aligned with our Statement of Values. The Steering Committee shared the results of our scores as a subset of LI, not as an endorsement of any particular candidate but as a way of showing how they aligned with our values based demands. .
Demand
It's not enough to just reclaim what we had. We must demand more and build a better government.
We can't continue to meekly ask for what we think we can get. We must declare what kind of country we intend to build.
Then we elect the candidate that will advance our vision.
Research
Leelanau Indivisible has put forth a bold vision for progressive policies.
While policies are essential, we also care about the person that we ask to represent us and so we will assess the candidates' character, too.
Research the candidates and use the scorecard criteria to see how they stack up to our vision of community and country. Attend candidate forums and events.
Amplify
Democracy doesn't defend itself - we do.
Reclaiming and rebuilding democracy starts with each of us choosing to engage.
The power has always belonged to us and now is the time to use it.
